Why this Christian devotional for women exists

“Know ye that the Lord he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture” (Psalm 100:3)
I don’t know about you but my favorite conversations with other women are the ones we laugh, cry and get to be real with each other. The ones we confess that we don’t have things figured out but, at the same time, that we are so desperate to prove ourselves and accomplish something special in this life.
A Christian devotional for the striving women
Inspired by Psalm 100:3, Not We Ourselves is here to provide women with a safe space to bring their broken selves and be restored by the good news of the Gospel found in Christ alone.
Whenever you visit this blog I want you to imagine that you are having one of those raw and authentic interactions with a dear close friend. This I believe the Lord uses to keep us strong in the faith.
Each post and resource you find here reflects the dilemma of finding rest in knowing that God is our creator and we the sheep of His pasture and our desire to become God and rule our life the way we think is right.
Let’s walk together!

I started this blog because I love the Lord, I really do, but I constantly fight the need to have to earn his favor and grace. I love the Lord, I do, but I refuse to let go of control and trust Jesus as my savior when life does not go the way I want it to be.
If you struggle with these two natures as well, then, welcome sister! You are in the right place.
In every challenge we might encounter, whether that be grief and loss, anxiety about the future, broken relationships, or pressure to perform, the phrase Not We Ourselves reminds us that it is not our job to take matters into our own hands but to believe that Jesus’s sacrifice on the cross and promise of eternal life are enough.
I would love to hear from you so feel free to head over the contact page and reach out or leave a comment under our blog posts. Let’s encourage each other in the faith!
